Principal's Message:
Lincoln Heights Public School fosters an environment in which people accept responsibility for their own learning and behaviour. It is a place for building relationships through acting responsibly and in a caring manner and demonstrating respect for one another while learning together.
Staff members are committed to providing each student with a quality education that promotes the development and pride in academic and social skills focussing on respect, effort and responsibility. The school and community share the belief that a caring, supporice school environment with high standards for achievement promotes individual growth - academically, physically, socially and emotionally. The school values the active role that our parents play in their schildren't education and encourages open communication to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for students. The principal makes certain that the culture of the school reflects the school community
and its shared values.
Parents are invited to contact the school (519-884-4010) throughout the year, if you have any questions or concerns. Together, we can meet the educational needs of our students. ~ Mr. Brian Morgan |

At Lincoln Heights, student and staff safety is our number one concern. There are several students and staff members with serious, and potentially life-threatening, allergies. We ask that you help keep these people safe by refraining from sending in any nut products and any oranges/orange products (mandarines, clementines...)
Thank you for your help and support! |

Severe Weather Procedures - School Closing
There are many reasons why a school may be closed, either before school starts in the morning, or during the school day. We are quickly approaching the time of year when snow and ice are commonplace. Please note the following important information. Lincoln Heights P.S. will only be closed if the severe weather warrants closure ofa ll schools in the Waterloo Region. Otherwise, Lincoln Heights P.S. will remain open all day and students will be dismissed at the regular time.
In order to effectively assist you and your child during severe weather conditions, it is essential that we have the correct home, business and emergency telephone numbers in case we need to contact you. Please notify the office if any of your contact numbers, your emergency contact numbers or you address has changed.
Bus cancellations and school closures will be announced and periodically repeared on the following radio stations: Kool FM (105.3), CKWR (98.5), Magic FM (106.1), CHYM (96.7), and Country 570
Several different announcements are possible including information about other areas and both city and rural schools in Waterloo Region. Please listen carefully to the announcement. If it states that all schools of the Waterloo Region District School Board are closed then you should not come to school. If the announcement states that buses/taxis are canceled and only certain schools are closed, then you are expected to attend unless you are transported by a school bus/taxi.

Summer Holidays Begin !! |
In April 2006 Breakfast Club opened its doors. It will continue to operate this year on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and hopefully Friday mornings. Breakfast Club is open to all Lincoln Heights students who wish to attend from 8:00 to 8:25 am. Students are to be finished eating by 8:25 and will be dismissed to go back outside at this time. Students are not to loiter in the halls since supervision is not provided in the halls at this time. We would welcome any volunteers who would like to help us with our Breakfast Club.

This is a reminder that parents need to provide information about their child’s or children’s immunization history directly to Public Health. This information is not provided to Public Health by the child’s health care provider.
Please note that incomplete or out of date immunization records may result in your child being suspended from school, as per the Immunization of School Pupil’s Act.
Please remember that each time your child receives a new vaccine you need to inform Public Health.

Spring has Sprung - and with it comes an opportunity to get out those summer clothes. As we strive to maintain a respectful school atmosphere, focussed on learning, we remind everyone of our dress code expectations (see page 8 of the Student Planner)
Dress Code: includes but is not limited to the following:
- No visible undergarments (ie. bras, boxers, underwear)
- No bare midriffs - "bottom of the top must cover the top of the bottom"
- Length of shorts and skirts must be appropriate for a school setting - ie. not distracting or offensive to staff/peers, as determined by administration)
- No backless, strapless, low cut of spaghetti strap tops
- Ripped or torn clothing is inappropriate for school
- Suggestive/offensice/disrespectful clothing or logos are never appriopriate (ie. condoning drugs, alcohol, inappropriate language or innuendo, gang afficliation or discrimination)
- Hats are not to be worn in school as a show of respect
- No muscle shirts
- Bandanas and gang related clothing not permitted
- Shoes must be worn in the buliding at all times for safety reasons
- Jackets and other forms of outer wear are not to be worn during class time
Any student not dressed appropriately will be counseled and will be required to change, either at school (ie. into gym clothes) or at home (parents will be called). If a student repeatedly displays a lack of respect for the dress code, further consequences may result (a loss of priviledges may be a consequence ir no participation in a school dance, an off camput trip, etc...)
